Documentary Film
Filmmaker Jade Patrick has started a short documentary about Judith “Judy” Schubert’s career and is raising money to complete the project. Watch the trailer below and read on to learn more and support this project.
Jade Patrick will combine archival footage with candid interviews and footage of Judy’s surroundings, both scenes from her daily life in the village outside of Plauen where she lives and inside some of the theaters where she has performed. To do so, Jade plans to travel to Germany this summer with her sound technician and co-producer on this project, husband James Patrick. Along with funding the travel and cases for equipment, this money will allow them time to edit the 15-20 minute long finished piece upon return and have the film translated and subtitled for both German and English speaking audiences.
Synergizing her photo and video practice with her experience as a visual art curator and gallerist, Jade has turned her lens to artists, performance and music many times in the past but this will be her first time creating a documentary of this scope. As she says in the trailer above, “if you believe more women in the arts deserve this kind of recognition, please support this film.” By funding this project you will be celebrating one career while expanding another, and spotlighting the cultural treasure that is opera.

Everyone that donates will be invited to a private screening of the film and Q&A in fall 2019; in-person at Gamut Gallery in Minneapolis for locals, and online for people who live outside of the Twin Cities.
No matter the amount, we really appreciate your support! Thank you!
